Mission and objectives

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)’s Regional Service Centre for Africa (RSCA) was inaugurated in May 2013, it is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and serves 45 Country Offices in sub-Saharan Africa. The UNDP RSCA develops high quality knowledge and policy, and is the organisation’s main interface with regional and continental bodies such as the African Union and the Regional Economic Communities. Our experts support UNDP Country Offices and manage a host of regional programmes and projects in different countries across the continent. The Center also implements a continent-wide Regional Programme supporting Africa’s transformation agenda.

Context

Re-design figures from a word document for a UNDP study to ensure that the figures, tables, and maps, are formatted in line with corporate design guidelines. This work will support the finalization of a UNDP study and ensure that it is ready for dissemination.

Task description

UNDP Programme Analyst, and in close collaboration with the communications team, will support us by re-designing figures for a UNDP study based on the figures in the word version of the study. In particular, the Online Volunteer is asked to: - Create draft design of 80 figures, including maps and tables, for a UNDP study, based on agreed on requirements and in discussion with the project team. - Based on feedback from the project team, develop final design. The design/layout should follow our corporate design guidelines which will be shared with the Online Volunteers in advance.

Requirements

Required experience

Candidates should have professional experience in graphic design with previous experience in designing document layouts, and must have in-depth knowledge of graphic design applications, as well as good verbal and written communication skills. A degree in graphic design or related field is considered an asset.
